Computing
Powering innovation & unleashing potential: computing at its best.
About the school
Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh’s School of Computing trains students to become software architects and IT professionals who can actually deliver. The programs cover software development, web design, and database management, among other areas. Students don't just study theory but also work with real & modern tools, along with the latest software as part of the course, so they get used to solving actual problems & not just textbook ones. This builds a strong base in core computer applications. Just as important, students pick up the critical thinking and problem-solving skills the IT industry keeps demanding, since things in this field change fast.
The world runs on data now, and the School's programs are built around that. There are focused tracks in artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and more. The advanced labs are well-equipped, and the campus has AI-enabled tools, which means students get their hands on them early rather than only reading about these concepts. The whole idea is to close the distance between what's taught in class and what actually happens on the job.

The classroom experience is less of a lecture and more of an experience, as the lectures are delivered in a storytelling manner supported by expert talks and case studies from the industry. This is where flipped classrooms and AI-based teaching come in to put the learner at the center - making students think sharper, keeping them interested, and making concepts easier to understand.
Impact-Oriented Projects
Working on a project as a team teaches students how to solve real problems, not just textbook ones. It also pushes their creativity and gives them direct experience that's hard to get otherwise. Between live projects, entrepreneurial ideas, and capstone work, students end up exploring genuinely complex topics - and along the way, they build useful industry contacts and pick up real insight into how the field works.
AI-Integrated Advanced Laboratories and Facilities
The strategically designed advanced laboratories are furnished with the latest equipment for experimentation, research, and innovation. This experimental exploration space allows learning through AI tools and interactive simulations, serving both technical purposes and creativity.
Exclusive Internship Opportunities
Being in a hub of industry immersion opportunities, students get a platform that encourages and leads to multiple internships as a part of the program. Through corporate, social, and research internships, they learn practical skills and get valuable exposure to professional environments.
Self-Paced Learning with Certifications
Certifications such as SAS Certified Associate: Modeling Using SAS Visual Statistics, SAS Visual Business Analytics Specialist, and SAS Certified Specialist: Machine Learning Using SAS Viya provide students with knowledge that has value in the real world. This promotes a structured learning approach for all learners' preferences, improving their skills, enhancing their knowledge, and acquiring certificates recognised by industries across the globe.

Message from the Head of Department

Engineering has always been about turning an idea into something that works. That could be a bridge, a machine, an electronic system, a manufacturing process, or a technology that solves an everyday problem.
At the School of Engineering, our focus is to give students the opportunity to experience this process themselves. We want students to spend time in laboratories, work on projects, understand how things work, interact with industry, and learn from practical experience—not just prepare for examinations.
I also believe that an engineering degree should help students become independent thinkers. There will be problems for which there is no ready-made answer. Learning how to approach such problems with patience, creativity, and confidence is an important part of becoming an engineer.
Our faculty will work closely with students to develop their technical abilities while also encouraging teamwork, communication and professional responsibility. My message to our students is simple: stay curious, keep experimenting, and never be afraid to ask why.
