India’s First AI-Augmented Multidisciplinary University, Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, steps towards building an AI-Driven India by hosting the groundbreaking ‘Unnati AI’ event. With Microsoft’s first-ever AI bootcamp, marking a historic milestone in CU-UP’s mission to build a future-ready, AI-skilled-based education & workforce, and setting up a stage for entrepreneurial opportunities for the students.
A joint initiative by FITT at IIT Delhi & Microsoft, CU-UP & CU-TBI, all coming together under one roof, The Unnati AI Program. With Over 300 students from different disciplines like engineering, business, commerce, and computer applications, etc, have experienced AI tool training at CU-UP, as the first student batch participated in the AI Bootcamp organized by Global Tech Giant Microsoft. The commitment to providing industry industry-aligned education model, which will boost their skill sets and improve their scope of job by focusing on AI from the beginning itself.
The event’s another important focus was Women's empowerment, by mandating 50% female participation. It also aimed to support early-stage founders and student innovators from Tier-II and Tier II cities, through Indian & global partnerships, AI skilling, and funding opportunities.
The event’s success was followed by strategic collaboration, where CU-Up signed an MoU with Microsoft, to bring advanced AI/ML, cloud computing, Data Science and other AI knowledge for students. The Unnati AI bootcamp is a milestone in the University’s long-term vision to nurture futuristic academics and provide opportunities.
Mr. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor and Member of Parliament, said that, In its first year itself, 23 top Indian and global companies have partnered with CU-UP to offer industry-oriented programs in AI, ML, Data Science, Fintech, and more.
Mr. Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director, Chandigarh University, UP, mentioned the university’s vision for UP, describing the campus, a hub for technological innovation. Located along the Kanpur-Lucknow highway, Chandigarh University’s Campus, built with an investment of over ₹2,500 crore, is a pinnacle of technological excellence and innovation in the region.
Ms. Lipika Sharma, Microsoft representative, ‘said, CU-UP has done it, while many are still looking to do so. Their AI-Augmented Campus is the first of its kind in the country.. CU-UP is showing the world how it’s done.
