    Executive Director- Management

    Job Summary

    Fundamentally, Chandigarh University comprises of four varied Clusters. The position of Executive Director – Management Independently heads the very important Management cluster providing strategic direction, leadership in academic planning and administrative oversight to achieve excellence in Management education and research. Being the lead facilitator, the Executive Director - Management would also primarily be responsible for, but is not limited to, expanding the cluster’s industry tie-ups, promoting interdisciplinary research, finding out the areas of training and development for the faculty and increase research output.

    The E.D. – Management reports directly to the Vice Chancellor and a member of Senior Administration, Chandigarh University.

    Job Description

    • Integrate and advance the University’s vision, mission and core values into the administration, operation and planning of the Management Faculty/Cluster, while stimulating and supporting excellence and integrity in teaching, learning, research, and University service, and foster the spirit of innovation among the staff and the students.
    • Play a proactive role in increasing the funding support to the Management Cluster through government, industry and other funding sources, besides meticulously working in collaboration with academic, industry and public sector partners to further enhance the research profile of the Faculty and expand and improve its infrastructure.
    • Promote the research initiatives of Management faculty members and ensure that their contributions are known and celebrated within the University and the broader community, and help build effective relationships, promote and advocate for the Faculty to a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including senior administration, associate deans, department chairs, faculty and staff, students, alumni, professional associations, the media, community leaders, and educational and other key institutions, locally, nationally and internationally.
    • Ensure that the recruitment and appointment processes are undertaken with the aim to attract the best of faculties, together with promoting consultancy and supervising the University team to deliver the projects assigned.

    Desired Skills

    • PhD, Doctoral Qualification or Professorship with 15+ years of experience.
    • Postgraduate Qualification, specifically in a relevant branch of Management.
    • Membership of appropriate academic and professional networks.
    • Significant experience in a higher education institution involving teaching, curriculum management and development, research or consultancy or related income generation activities.
    • Evidence of effective strategic planning and implementation together with experience in a leadership and management role.
    • Evidence of successful academic leadership, and experience in generating external income for research, consultancy, or training.
    • Experience of managing staff (with teamwork being a crucial component) preferably within a Multi-Disciplinary University.
