KANPUR, April 15 - In a landmark development at ease to develop India’s higher education landscape, Chandigarh University Lucknow officially launched its admission and scholarship portal (CUCET) 2025, during a high-profile press conference held in Kanpur. With a bold commitment to inclusivity and innovation, the university announced a staggering Rs 40 crore in scholarships for meritorious and economically underprivileged students, in addition to a Rs 3 crore ‘CV Raman Scholarship’ dedicated to budding scientific researchers.
Addressing the media, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Joshi, Advisor to the Chancellor, highlighted the university’s mission to create a transformative educational environment, grounded in academic excellence and industry-based learning. “CUCET 2025 is more than an entrance exam- it’s a gateway to a future-oriented education that combines world-class infrastructure with the power of Artificial Intelligence,” said Dr. Joshi, focusing on the university’s vision to become a nucleus of advanced learning in the country.
The announcement marked the beginning of admissions for the 2025–26 academic year at the Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh campus, strategically located on the Kanpur-Lucknow Highway. The newly developed campus, built at a cost exceeding Rs 2,500 crore, is India’s first AI-augmented private university- designed to offer 50 multidisciplinary programs across six academic domains, each fitted with artificial intelligence tools and frameworks.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Yadav, Registrar of Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh, detailed the academic structure and futuristic ethos of the new institution. “Our university, situated close to India’s first AI City in the Lucknow State Capital Region, is set to transform higher education by offering a multidisciplinary curriculum equipped with artificial intelligence,” he said.
From engineering and business administration to life sciences and humanities, the university’s curriculum is being crafted to merge foundational knowledge with new technologies. These offerings include progressive undergraduate and postgraduate programs that aim to equip students with the skills demanded by the future job market.
‘With AI being the cornerstone of our pedagogy, our students will not only learn to adapt to new technologies- they will lead their evolution,’ Dr. Yadav affirmed.
Chandigarh University’s Common Entrance Test (CUCET) has already established a national reputation as a robust platform for merit-based admissions and scholarships. Now extended to its Uttar Pradesh campus, the initiative will provide up to 100% scholarships to deserving students.
“Through CUCET 2025, we aim to break down the financial barriers that often prevent talented individuals from accessing quality education. This year, we are committing Rs 40 crore for scholarships and an additional Rs 3 crore for the ‘CV Raman Scholarship’ focused on scientific research,” Dr. Joshi stated.

In a move to make sure graduates are not only academically sound but also industry-ready, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 24 global and Indian industry leaders. These collaborations have birthed 15 industry-aligned academic programs to be launched in the 2025–26 session.
‘Companies onboard include global powerhouses such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, SAS, Quick Heal, Rabbit AI, KPMG, PwC, and NSE Academy, among others.
These strategic partnerships will lead to the creation of centres of excellence on campus, two of which will be operational in the first phase. These collaborations go beyond symbolic partnerships. They are fused deeply into our curriculum, allowing students access to internship opportunities, live projects, R&D labs, and guaranteed campus placements with global firms.’ said Dr. Manoj Joshi.
The MoUs also confirms that academic content remains relevant to industry needs, thanks to the newly formed Corporate Advisory Board (CAB), which includes over 100+ CEOs and top-level executives. The Board will play a pivotal role in curriculum development and training modules, bridging the long-standing industry-academia divide.
As part of its commitment to futuristic education, Chandigarh University Uttar Pradesh will offer specialized programs designed in collaboration with industry partners across three key academic domains: Engineering, Business & Commerce, and Computer Applications.
These programs are designed to address skills gaps in high-demand fields and are projected to yield significant job opportunities in the coming decade. The curriculum involves AI components at every level, assuring students are adept not only in theoretical knowledge but in practical, real-time problem-solving environments.
The university’s one of its kind infrastructure on the Kanpur-Lucknow Highway is designed to match global educational standards. With smart classrooms, AI-based learning systems, dedicated R&D facilities, and latest labs supported by Rabbit AI, the campus offers a comprehensive environment for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The addition of Centres of Excellence, developed in partnership with tech leaders, will serve as incubation hubs for student research, product development, and startup incubation.
