The goal of this program is to produce individuals who are ready for careers in architectural design, urban planning, sustainable development, heritage conservation, digital design, and project management or construction management.

This program provides students with hands-on learning in a studio setting, using modern technology and advanced design practices; sustainable design principles; and exposure to the architectural profession. This prepares graduates for success in the field of architecture. Students develop the following skills related to contemporary standards of practice through experiential learning, the use of technology, and consistent engagement with industry professionals: creative thinking, technical competency, and analytical skills.
Students learn design excellence by using digital materials, working on client projects, studying buildings around the world, and being engaged in projects that have real-world impacts in collaboration with other students from different industries. By experiencing this mix and working in close relationships with their professors and industry partners, students will be prepared to compete for jobs as an architect anywhere.
Introduced in Semester 2 as Computer Graphic Skills I, AutoCAD builds the foundational language of technical drawing — floor plans, sections, elevations, and construction details — that underpins all subsequent digital work.
Semester 3's Computer Graphic Skills II moves students into BIM workflows — integrating architectural, structural, and services information into coordinated digital building models aligned with global industry practice.
Semester 4 introduces parametric and computational modelling, enabling students to generate and evaluate complex form-finding scenarios, structural geometries, and performance-driven design outcomes.
Semester 5's Computer Applications course combines AI-assisted design generation with climate-optimisation tools — allowing students to test daylighting, thermal performance, and passive design strategies before a line is drawn on paper.
Semester 6 puts Extended Reality tools in students' hands — enabling immersive spatial walkthroughs, client-facing AR overlays, and VR pre-visualisation of buildings and urban spaces before construction begins.
Elective basket courses in Spatial Big Data Analytics, GIS, and Generative AI Frameworks in Design equip students to work at the scale of cities — analysing land use, mobility, and urban growth patterns with the tools that contemporary planning firms and government bodies actually use.
Students may participate in a Semester Exchange program following their second year, facilitated through Chandigarh University's international academic network.
