Fundamentals of Interior Design is a foundational course that introduces students to the fundamentals of interior space and interior design, focusing on architectural spaces, design concepts, and design methodology. It develops a basic design vocabulary through the study of elements and principles of design and their application in interiors. This course also covers the design process, scale and proportion, colour and texture planning, and their visual and psychological effects. An introduction to aesthetics, art, décor, accessories, and ornamentation helps students understand the role of visual expression and embellishment in interior design, forming a foundation for further interior design studies.
