Critical & Design Thinking for Problem Solving introduces learners to structured reasoning, analytical thinking, and human-centered innovation approaches. The course develops the ability to analyze problems logically, recognize biases, frame problems effectively, and generate innovative solutions using design thinking frameworks.

Through real-world examples, analytical frameworks, and structured exercises, learners explore how critical thinking supports decision-making and how design thinking enables creative problem solving in modern professional environments.

  • To develop structured analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • To help students distinguish facts, assumptions, and reasoning patterns in decision-making.
  • To introduce design thinking as a human-centered innovation framework.
  • To develop skills for ideation, evaluation, and prototyping of solutions.

  • CO1 - Analyze problems logically by identifying assumptions, biases, and reasoning structures.
  • CO2 - Apply systems thinking and root cause analysis to define complex problems.
  • CO3 - Use human-centered design principles to generate and evaluate innovative solutions.
